William Nylander's brother linked to the Leafs rival
The Montreal Canadiens have been very quiet in the free agent market since July 1st, but that appears to have changed, as they have been linked to several players.
Habs GM Kent Hughes only signed Alex Barré-Boulet since the start of free agency, but now, three more prominent players have been linked to the team. They are Daniel Sprong, Tyler Johnson, and William Nylander's brother, Alex.
"If the Montreal Canadiens general manager, Kent Hughes, absolutely wants to turn to the free agent market to find reinforcements for the attack, he essentially has three candidates left.
Daniel Sprong. Tyler Johnson. Alex Nylander. That's all."
William Nylander's brother Alex had an interesting season. He only played five games with the Penguins before they traded him to Columbus, where he ended up scoring 11 goals and four assists in 23 games with the Blue Jackets. Now, it appears he may be on the move again.
The Blue Jackets did not qualify Alex Nylander.
It is widely known that Alex likely won't become the superstar that his brother William is.
However, the Habs would be able to get Alex for fairly cheap, and fans sure hope they do. You can only imagine the rivalry that would heat up when Montreal and Toronto face each other, dubbing it as the battle of the Nylanders.
