Mike Sullivan Makes a Massive Claim About This Year's Penguins
This year's Penguins roster is looking to come back with a vengeance and head coach Mike Sullivan has taken notice.
Sullivan's Massive Claim
Training camps are underway and teams are preparing for the upcoming NHL season. The Penguins missed the playoffs last season ending a 16-year playoff streak.
Head coach Mike Sullivan has been overseeing training and he has some lofty words for the current Penguins.
"This might be the most competitive group of players we have ever assembled"
Sullivan's History In Pittsburgh
Sullivan was named the head coach of the Penguins in December 2015. Later that season, the Penguins won the cup and the very next season the Penguins won it again.
For Sullivan to say this group is more competitive than two Stanley Cup-winning groups could either be him trying to show confidence in his roster or him truly believing this and the Penguins are ready to make another cup run.
With additions like Erik Karlsson, it is understandable that the Penguins will have some more firepower. Now, only time will tell if they are truly cup contenders or if they are just cup pretenders.
As seen on Pensburgh - Mike Sullivan calls Penguins training camp «most competitive group» since 2015
