Penguins fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Future Plan
In a press conference yesterday afternoon, Executive Vice President Dave Beeston and President of Business Operations Kevin Acklin of Fenway Sports Group revealed their plan for the Penguins down the road.
FSG made their first move this offseason by firing GM Ron Hextall, Assistant GM Chris Pryor, and President of Hockey Operations Brian Burke.
When asked when a new GM will be hired, Beeston stated,
«As soon as possible without rushing. We want to get the right person in place.»
In terms of coaching, Beeston praised head coach Mike Sullivan, implying that Sullivan will be staying put with the team.
Beeston also stated they have every intention of retiring Captain Sidney Crosby a Penguin.
«Its very important that Sidney Crosby never plays in another uniform other than the Pittsburgh Penguins.»
Fenway Sports Group also owns the Major League Baseball's Boston Red Sox and Premier League's Liverpool F.C.
