The Predators' general manager, Barry Trotz, wanted to offload Glass' contract, and he made a deal with Kyle Dubas. In addition to taking the 25-year-old forward's $2.5M contract, the Pens received a 2025 3rd round pick and a 2026 6th round pick in return for Jordan Frasca.
Check out the Penguins' official announcement:
Glass was drafted 6th overall in 2017 by the Vegas Golden Knights, the first pick in franchise history. Unfortunately, he has struggled to live up to the hype and ended up joining the Nashville Predators in 2021.
In 187 games in the NHL, he scored 29 goals and 42 assists, and despite taking part in three games during the playoffs, he couldn't add his name to the scoresheet.
Because of this, many Pens fans weren't happy about this move, and lashed out on social media. Someone went as far as calling him a "scrub".
Glass saw the comment, and answered in the best possible way.
Here's what he wrote:
It's safe to say that Glass will be under a lot of scrutiny by Pens fans next season, much like Kyle Dubas, who continues to make surprising, and often questionable, decisions.
