Matt Petgrave isn't a huge name in the hockey world, but after a fatal incident involving former NHLer Adam Johnson, he's been a person to keep a close eye on.

The hockey world was rocked in late 2023 after hearing of an incident involving former Pittsburgh Penguin Adam Johnson, who fatally passed after being cut with a skate in England as a part of the Elite Ice Hockey League. The player involved, Matt Petgrave was then under investigation for the move that led to Johnson's passing, and he was ultimately arrested, facing charges of manslaughter.

Now, his bail, for the third time has been extended, this time until June 26th 2024 as he continues to await trial.

Matt Petgrave, who is under arrest on suspicion of manslaughter to Adam Johnson during a game in the United Kingdom's top flight hockey league, has been re-bailed for the third time, with the extension spanning to June 26th, 2024.

He is still to remain in Nottingham until a trial.

On one hand, there are those that see this as an accident, but on the other side there are those that saw this as an intentional, dirty play, and while Petgrave certainly didn't mean for this to happen, it unfortunately did.

Petgrave will continue to remain in Nottingham until a trial is officially set, and we will continue to keep you updated as this story unfolds.
