Shane Wright faces another humiliating setback
It was a true blockbuster when the Windsor Spitfires acquired Shane Wright from the Kingston Frontenacs. Unfortunately, it didn't pay off.
Spitfires Swept in First Round
The Windsor Spitfires had a stellar regular season, finishing as the first seed in the OHL western conference. They further added to their team poised for a championship by bringing in Shane Wright in a blockbuster, including several draft picks and two players.
With Wright in the lineup, it looked like Windsor was ready to go all the way to the memorial cup, and even better, their first round matchup was with the below-average Kitchener Rangers.
The Rangers have had serious coaching issues, and have been one of the worst teams to watch in the OHL.
They pulled out all the stops for this matchup however, and swept the first seed Spitfires.
Since Wright was supposed to lead the team, he is facing a lot of scrutiny online:
It's safe to say the Spitfires regret their decision. Let's see if Kitchener can use this momentum to go all the way.
