Elliotte Friedman Reveals Details On What The Calgary Flames Are Asking From The Maple Leafs For Nikita Zadorov Or Chris Tanev
Trade rumors between the Calgary Flames and Toronto Maple Leafs have been heating up in a major way in the last week. Today Elliotte Friedman added new information to the fire hinting at a possible return for either or both Nikita Zadorov and Chris Tanev.
Calgary Flames Looking To Sell Top Defensemen
The Calgary Flames are rumored to be sellers more and more as the season continues. The two names mentioned most are Nikita Zadorov and Chris Tanev. Zadorov is almost guaranteed to be gone after requesting a trade while being in the last year of his contract.
With Zadorov likely on the move NHL insider Elliotte Friedman provided an update on what different packages could look like if the Maple Leafs take a run at it.
Friedman Reveals Flames Asking Price For Top Defensemen
According to reports from Elliotte Friedman's latest 32 Thoughts Podcast the Flames asking price for Zadorov and Tanev is known.
The Flames are asking the Maple Leafs for one of their young forwards and a draft pick in return for one or both of the defensemen. The quality of the draft pick depends on whether the players will be a rental or not.
There is growing belief around the NHL that if the Maple Leafs can acquire specifically Nikita Zadorov an extension could come with it. This extension would drive the price up significantly.
With a bidding war now being created offering Zadorov an extension and the Flames more assets could be the game-changer needed to get him in a Maple Leaf uniform.
