Ilya Samsonov Reveals What He Thinks About the Maple Leafs
After returning to practice following his stint on the Injured Reserve to close out the campaign, Ilya Samsonov let his opinion of the Maple Leafs club be known.
With the most important stretch of games maybe ever in Samsonov's career, it does not appear that the netminder is feeling the pressure. At least not showing it on the outside, and remaining his own vibrant self.
When asked about the Maple Leafs, Samsonov's response was simple:
"We're elite team. I think probably best team"
When clarified if that meant best in the NHL, again, the response was very clear:
"For sure"
Samsonov did not hold back on his positive experiences this season, from winning all the way to how players are treated off the ice, it was clear Samsonov is enjoying himself in Toronto. When asked what makes the Leafs so great, Samsonov replied:
"Because we have a nice group. We have best doctors, best therapists, best workouts coaches, yeah, we have the best coaches. We have the best players here"
Samsonov is slated to patrol the crease for game 1 against Tampa Bay when the two sides take the ice next week on Tuesday.
