The Toronto Maple Leafs have one of the most explosive offensive teams in the NHL currently, as well as a solid batch of talented prospects led by forward Matthew Knies.
Knies Undecided
The Leafs drafted Knies back in the 2021 NHL draft were they stole him ind the 2nd round going 57th overall. Since then Knies value has risen with many teams calling the Leafs about Knies looking to acquire his services, including the Arizona Coyotes who were looking to get Knies in as part in a Jakob Chychrun trade.
However maybe Leafs General Manager Kyle Dubas should of traded Knies because as of now Knies has yet to commit to the Leafs. Knies sat down with the folks at NHL.com and had this to say.
"The Maple Leafs have been in good communication with me. They've obviously been very professional about it and they've given me my space to let me focus on being here. I haven't really thought so much about it and I think once the season really ends I can sit back down with them and weigh the pros and the cons.
This is obviously concerning for Leafs Nation as Knies is the Leafs best prospect, but could end up like numerous players who get drafted by a team but decline to join them and ending up being moved to where they really want to play.
