The Maple Leafs have released their final goaltending duo for the last tune-up games before their season opener next week against Montreal.

Leafs Announce Samsonov and Woll Will Start for Final Two Pre-Season Games

It was reported today that Ilya Samsonov and Joesph Woll will start the final two preseason games for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Samsonov is set to start tonight's game against Detroit, with Woll starting in Detroit on Saturday.

Per Keefe, Samsonov starts tonight, Woll starts in Detroit on Saturday. Each will play full 60. The #Leafs' goaltending is set, barring injury.

Leafs Goaltending Duo is Set for the Upcoming Season

With questions surrounding Matt Murray's health circulating this entire offseason, many were questioning what the Leafs were going to do between the pipes for the upcoming season. Samsonov was great for them last season, but his injury status and inexperience are question marks in the Leafs' hope to go on a deep Cup run.

I am not accustomed to a Maple Leafs goalie showing up and dominating in a huge pressure situation.

Ilya Samsonov outplaying Andrei Vasilevskiy in a playoff series was not something I ever expected to happen.

Now, it appears that they will run with their duo in Samsonov and Woll. Woll also stepped up last season in the playoffs when Samsonov was out. The Leafs are hopeful that Samsonov can remain healthy, and that he can repeat his success from last year.

Joseph Woll came into a playoff game where the team is down 2-0, cold and with no playoff experience. He has been awesome!
His control and speed look exceptional
