Game 2 went as well as it could have for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
A 7-2 win was exactly what they needed to restore the faith they had in themselves and the faith the fans had in them. One reason they won by so much was the play of Morgan Rielly. The Leafs' number 1 defenceman has had a tough year, but Game 2 was easily his best of the season.
The mobile blueliner tied a franchise record for playoff points in a game by a defenceman with 4 assists.
What This Means For Game 3
If they can get even close to this kind of performance from Rielly, it'll give the Leafs a much better chance at moving on to the second round. His play offensively and defensively was elite in Game 2.
Rielly has unleashed a new level in his game, right at the perfect time.
Can he continue this level of play? We shall see. If he can, good luck Tampa!
