Nylander's Hard-Hitting Quote Gets the Attention of Stanley Cup Hopeful Leaf Fans.
The most critical time of any season is right around the corner. This season, maybe none more important for anyone other than the Toronto Maple Leafs looking to break a 19-year drought of failing to make the second round.
Leaf Nation may see seismic change this summer if the buds fail to get it done this spring. Members of the organization will not be satisfied until this team gets over the hump, and that is no different for William Nylander.
Nylander, who's enjoying career highs in both goals and points with 39 and 86 will be at the center of it all whichever way this team goes.
When asked about his consistency this season, the winger noted:
"I think I'm playing to more where I can be as a player."
"To my level," he went on. "I think it's been more consistency. When I have a s****y game, maybe that lasts one game, two games. Before it's maybe been five games, you know what I mean?"
This is ultimately all irrelevant if the Leafs and Nylander can't find a way to break through, but the star winger is well aware of that.
