Samsonov's Agent Reveals Major Development Before Arbitration Hearing
Samsonov and the Leafs
All eyes are turned to Ilya Samsonov and the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are scheduled to go into a salary arbitration hearing tomorrow. A third party will come in to decide how much money Samsonov should earn.
The Leafs have filed for $2.4 million, and Samsonov is asking for $4.9 million.
$2.4M isn't much for a number one goalie, but $4.9M is a bit much for a goalie who had one great run. They'll likely meet in the middle, as we explained earlier today.

Now, there has been some new development regarding the hearing, and it could change everything.
Samsonov's Agent Opens Up
Don Meehan, Samsonov's agent, made an interesting declaration ahead of the hearing.
«I really don't know what will happen. I imagine we will meet with the Leafs (one final time before the hearing commences).»
The Leafs and Samsonov will apparently try to reach a deal one last time before going into the hearing.
This is major, as both parties probably want to avoid the whole process.
