As Free Agency fast approaches, the Toronto Maple Leafs and new General Manager Brad Treliving will be very busy as they look to fill the gaps and build a stronger core for the upcoming season. Below are the top UFA's the Leafs should target.
Jonathan Toews
Age: 35
Position: Centre
A proven winner with 3 Stanley Cup rings, Toews brings extreme value as a leader and playoff experience. Unlike, in Chicago, Toews would be less relied on for production, however he still has the ability to create offence and brings his ability to win to a team that is ready for success.
Age: 28
Position: Left/right wing
Bertuzzi is another player who would help the Maple Leafs. With Similar play to Michael Bunting, Bertuzzi stands out with his strong playoff performance with the Bruins. Bertuzzi would play a lesser role then he may have in Detroit and Boston but he has the track record of being able to compete on the offensive side of the puck.
Age: 31
Position: Left/right defence
A strong defender who would only strength the Maple Leafs backend. Another veteran who would make the Leafs better immediately. Orlov may be the missing piece the leafs need.
Only time will tell if these players sign with the Maple Leafs and make the impact they are expected to make.
