After days of speculation, followed by the Auston Matthews missing game five and game six, he will officially return to the lineup tonight.

Having been suffering an illness and an injury this series against the Boston Bruins, Auston Matthews, who scored an incredible 69 goals this season, will be returning to the lineup.

Auston Matthews was initially pulled after the second period of game 4 by the team doctor, and was unavailable during the Toronto Maple Leafs' comeback in games 5 and 6.

Now, on the eve of a dreaded game 7 against divisional and original six rival Boston Bruins, Auston Matthews is back to fight for a ticket into the second round.

Media in Boston say Matthews arrived on the first Leaf team bus to the rink today, which usually transports the starters.

Auston Matthews arrived with the first bus of teammates for Game 7 in Boston, intensifying the belief he is an option for tonight.

We will see if with Auston Matthews in the lineup, and the core four reunited for the first time in these playoffs, if the Toronto Maple Leafs can finish off the series.
