In his end-of-season interview, Treliving made major declarations, including an update on Auston Matthews' health. He shed light on why the Leafs superstar had to miss two games in the series.
The general manager revealed that Matthews was suffering from a virus, and that he had symptoms of a head injury after a hit that occured in game 4, explaining why he wasn't cleared to come back in the line up until the seventh game.
Per Elliotte Friedman:
This pretty much summed up what Matthews himself revealed in his end-of-season media availability a few days ago:
Leafs fans are surely wondering if the outcome of the series would've been different if Auston Matthews had been available for all games.
With William Nylander also missing a few games, the Bruins had a clear advantage on the Leafs, who were still able to force a seventh game.
Do you think the Leafs would be in the second round if Auston Matthews had taken part in all games against the Boston Bruins?
