BREAKING: The NHL Severely Punishes Morgan Rielly
Department of Player Safety Suspends Maple Leafs Top Defenseman Morgan Rielly 5 Games After Hit on Greig
On Saturday, the Maple Leafs faced the Ottawa Senators and a major incident unfolded in the last seconds of the game.
Senators' Ridley Greig scored in an empty net with a slap-shot, while being only a few feet from the goal and alone in the zone.
After the goal, Rielly landed a dangerous hit on Greig, which was reviewed by the NHL's DoPS.
The hearing, held earlier today, led to a verdict.
Rielly will be suspended five games.
