The Maple Leafs could have a big problem on their hands with Max Domi, as the forward has missed two straight practices with no clue what exactly is going on.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been hit by the injury bug lately, with Auston Matthews missing the last week, and Max Pacioretty heading to the IR for several weeks with a lower-body injury, not to mention Calle Jarnkrok's setback which could jeopardize his entire career.

So it's another worrying sign that after a 'maintenance day' at the behest of Craig Berube, Maple Leafs forward Max Domi was not seen practicing ahead of Tuesday's Battle of Ontario. Per David Alter on his X account, Domi; who is normally seen on the ice after a day off is still absent:

The Toronto Maple Leafs Need Max Domi with Auston Matthews Out

With so many Maple Leafs out, it would be another huge blow to lose their second top line center in a week. Domi has stepped up for Matthews while he's been out and he has started to develop a bit of chemistry with Mitch Marner and Matthew Knies.

It would be harsh for Domi to miss time, as he's been solid this season however has yet to find the back of the net so perhaps there's been something underlying we are unaware of. Domi does have a bit of a history with injuries, so the team hopes it's nothing serious.

Toronto did call up Alex Steeves on an emergency basis from the Toronto Marlies, and while it's presumed that he came up due to Max Pacioretty's injury, there's a possibility Toronto found something out last night and needed to make a move this morning:

This season, Domi has no goals and six assists in 16 games, but is a +3 and is playing solid defensively with his linemates, though don't go asking Domi to do things on his own:

If Domi misses the game against the Ottawa Senators, look for Craig Berube to do a lot of penmanship when it comes to his roster, as he tries to keep Toronto's wave of momentum riding strong as they face adversity at every turn.
