The Toronto Maple Leafs' forward Connor Dewar will require surgery after playing through an injury in the playoffs against the Boston Bruins.

In yesterday's end-of-season press conference held by the Leafs' President of Hockey Operations, general manager and CEO Brendan Shanahan, Brad Treliving and Keith Pelley, it was revealed that Connor Dewar would get a shoulder surgery.

"Connor Dewar is undergoing shoulder surgery today."

Treliving also shared updates on the other injuries that struck the Maple Leafs' roster in the playoffs:

"Injury updates from Brad Treliving:

Auston Matthews -- became really sick after Gm 2, suffered a hit in Gm 4 that presented "head injury" issues
William Nylander -- severe migraines
Joe Woll -- sprained back
Bobby McMann -- MCL knee sprain
Connor Dewar -- shoulder surgery"

The Leafs acquired Dewar at the last trade deadline, in a deal with the Minnesota Wild. Treliving sent a 2026 fourt-round pick in exchange for the 24-year-old center, who managed to score five points, including one goal, in 17 regular-season games, and one point (an assist), in five playoff games.

Dewar will become a restricted free agent on July 1st. The Maple Leafs will need to make a decision about him, and it'll be interesting to see what they do.

He'd make a great fourth liner for the Leafs, but if he asks for too much money, the Leafs probably wouldn't mind seeing him walk away from the organization.

Treliving has much more important players to deal with, such as Max Domi and Tyler Bertuzzi.
