If Maple Leafs fans weren't already excited, Easton Cowan's performance so far this season has been fantastic and commented on his start to the World Juniors.

It wasn't enough that Toronto's top prospect had himself a record-breaking (though unofficial) season so far for the London Knights, but with a goal in Team Canada's opener in the World Juniors, he's continuing to dominate wherever he plays.

That confidence is starting to grow and when asked about how he's been able to continue his elite style of play, the forward humbly commented on the work it's taken to get to where he's at:

«I just feel like I've been practicing, you know. I've been really dialing in my shot and making good plays, so I feel like it's leading to my game pretty well.»

Easton Cowan's Future Looks Bright With The Maple Leafs

Drafted 28th overall by the Maple Leafs in 2023, Cowan was primed potentially for a spot on this season's squad before being in the final cuts of preseason.

Known for his blistering speed, playmaking wizardry, and suddenly lightning quick release; the sky's the limit for the young forward. This season he picked up right where he left off last year, having 28 points in 20 games so far for London.

Last year though, he took the OHL by storm scoring 96 points in 54 games including a 36-game point streak that extended from the regular season into the playoffs.

Along with Fraser Minten, Cowan is expected to play a huge part in the Maple Leafs future going forward. Even though his name has come up in potential trade talks, there's no doubt that the team holds him in a very high regard.

Expected to be a huge part of Team Canada, his goal helped seal the deal for the red and white. Getting the second goal in the team's 4-0 opener against Finland, Cowan proved that he is going to be a handful for the opposition alongside Gavin McKenna.

Canada is off to a great start so far with their win against Finland, and won't have much time to rest as they take on Latvia on Friday night where Cowan and company are looking to make a dominant statement against a plucky Latvian squad.
