Ahead of the Toronto Maple Leafs' game on Wednesday against the Minnesota Wild, there are reports of a heavy scout presence in the arena raising trade speculation.

It's no secret that Brad Treliving and the Maple Leafs are going to make some type of trade ahead of, or on the March 7 trade deadline.

The need for forward depth as well as a potential top-4 defenseman means that time is ticking to get a deal done.

So it's unsurprising to see that not only is Brad Treliving under pressure, but so is every team in the NHL (even if they wouldn't admit it), and with buyers becoming sellers, and vice versa; it's sure to make for an exciting lead up to that deadline.

Toronto Maple Leafs Game Sees 15 Scouts As Trade Talks Intensify

Coming off a bad two-game losing streak that saw their offense go basically invisible, Toronto needs a bounce back game against the Wild, and with there being so many scouts; the pressure is on.

Players, whether they are open or not about it, are fully aware that scouts are at a good number of games and the pressure to perform to not only help your team, but raise your trade value is quite tough to deal with at times.

Names like Nick Robertson, Conor Timmins, and even Morgan Rielly have been talked about in a potential trade, and each team represented has pieces that Toronto needs.

Anaheim, Montreal, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Utah all have expendable third line centers that could be the key piece the Maple Leafs need, and though they all come with varying costs; those teams offer the best selection of players without breaking the bank.

However, the inclusion of Colorado, Dallas, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Los Angeles should worry Leafs fans. After the Mikko Rantanen trade, will Colorado try and scoop up some young pieces to rebuild around Martin Necas and Nathan MacKinnon?

Does Dallas take Nick Robertson and potentially pair him with his brother? There's a lot of different avenues for teams to go down.

It's going to be an exciting time for NHL fans as teams are working overtime to make sure they have as much information as possible ahead of the trade deadline.

Perhaps they'll find their diamond in the rough, so Brad Treliving needs to be careful who he does business with.
