This afternoon we now have official confirmation that Auston Matthews will not play in Game 6 against the Boston Bruins. The report comes from Luke Fox and has been confirmed by Sheldon Keefe.

The news was broken on X by Toronto Maple Leafs reporter Luke Fox Auston Matthews will be officially out for Game 6. It was then reposted shortly after by Elliotte Friedman confirming the news.

Auston Matthews will not play Game 6.

Shortly after the insider announcements were made Sheldon Keefe spoke as well. He made the official announcement that Auston Matthews will be out for Game 6.

Auston Matthews is OUT for Game 6, per Sheldon Keefe.

The announcement still comes with no diagnosis for what is keeping Auston Matthews out of the lineup. The lack of explanation has fans frustrated and confused as Game 6 draws near.

He has to be injured, right?

I don't get it, he's practicing and isn't wearing a no contact jersey or anything? If he has an injury then why is he practicing? If he has an illness I swear the christ, that's an awful look for a 13.5 guy when the Leafs are facing elimination. He looks fine in the clips today!

This is of course a huge blow for the Toronto Maple Leafs who are once again in a must-win situation against the Boston Bruins. Without Auston Matthews, other players will once again need to step up.

The puck drop is set for 8 pm where the Toronto Maple Leafs will fight to keep their season alive.
