Former Leafs Fan Favourite Announces Life-Changing News
While his stint in Toronto was short, Nicolas Aubé-Kubel won over the hearts of many fans in his stint with the Leafs. He has now announced truly life-changing news.
Aubé-Kubel, who was one of Kyle Dubas' final free agent signings as general manager of the Maple Leafs, played six games for the team in 2022-23 before being placed on waivers and being claimed by the Washington Capitals.
He showed exactly what fans expected in Washington, and signed an $1.225M extension this past offseason. His grit, tenacity, and playoff pedigree made him a perfect fit in Toronto, but his $1M salary at the time made him too hard to fit in over guys making closer to league minimum.
His wife, Madison, has now announced that they are expecting a baby!
Congrats to the Aubé-Kubel's. We miss you in Toronto!
