Former Leafs trio announce their jersey numbers with the Sabres
Three former players of the Toronto Maple Leafs have joined the Buffalo Sabres, and have finally revealed what jersey numbers they will be donning next season.
James Reimer, Sam Lafferty and Nicolas Aube-Kubel have all been signed by the Buffalo Sabres this off-season, and they have all announced what numbers they will be displaying on the back of their jerseys.
Aube-Kubel only played six games for the Leafs in the 2022-23 season, and was later put on waivers where the Washington Capitals claimed him. He will wear number 96 in Buffalo.
Lafferty is a bottom six forward who was with the Leafs during the same 2022-23 season. He was later traded to Chicago for defenseman Jake McCabe. He will wear number 81 for the Sabres.
Finally, James Reimer will be wearing number 47, a number he's been familiar with over his career. Reimer was a 4th round pick by the Leafs in 2006 and went on to have five seasons of solid play beginning in 2010, starting in over 200 games for the team.
Good luck to all three players, except when they play the Leafs that is.
