A hilarious scene at yesterday's practice might be the signal that Sheldon Keefe wants to move Mitch Marner to defence, or it was just Mitch Marner joking around, you'll have to decide for yourself.

Mitch Marner is well known for being a jokester in the Toronto Maple Leafs dressing room. After the big win in Calgary breaking the Leafs' 4-game losing slide, Marner was up to his usual antics.

During practice, he decided to wear Jake McCabe's game jersey, poking fun at the defenseman in a light-hearted way, and maybe suggesting he could make a run at playing on the blueline for the Leafs.

Mitch Marner comes out for practice briefly wearing Jake McCabe's uniform.

Marner and McCabe are nearly polar opposites in play style, Marner being a skilled player who dances with the puck to make plays, where McCabe is more of a physical, gritty player. However, they seem to have a good relationship between the two, as McCabe was the one to grab Marner's 600th point puck.

The Leafs face a big test tonight against the Vancouver Canucks, as they try and build on their previous win against the Flames. This is a big game for Vancouver, as their players have noted that it is always an energetic game when the Leafs come into town.

J.T. Miller on Canucks hosting Leafs on Saturday afternoon:

"It's one of the biggest games we look forward to in the regular season. There's a million reasons to be excited to play. The last couple years they've been in here the games have been electric"

The Canucks are one of the NHL's best this season, being propelled forward on the back of J.T. Miller, Elias Pettersson, and Quinn Hughes. They will be a tough matchup for the Leafs and a true test of how good this Leafs team truly is.
