Ilya Samsonov projected to start in game 2 against the Bruins
The Toronto Maple Leafs' goaltender Ilya Samsonov is projected to get the start in the second game against the Boston Bruins.
Despite his horrible performance in Saturday night's 5-1 loss, it looks like Sheldon Keefe will trust Samsonov to guard the net for game 2.
"Ilya Samsonov is doing his usual starters routine and is the projected starter for Game 2 vs Boston."
"Ilya Samsonov is doing his usual starting routine at Leafs skate."
Samsonov did manage to bounce back from his struggles this season, and the Leafs hope he can do it again. In his last three games, the Russian goalie allowed a total of 15 goals.
Samsonov on allowing 15 goals in last 3 GP:
"I forgot about this. Keep on working. It doesn't mean after 3 games I get some bad goalie. We see in the last 3 months what's going on. I believe in myself, in my skill. I believe in everybody in this room"
More to come.
