William Nylander was a key absence for the Maple Leafs in game one of this first-round series, but it appears there's some positive news moving forward.
There's been plenty of mystery around the injury that forced William Nylander to miss his first game of the 2023-24 season on Saturday, but now an insider has dropped some positive news on his status for game two.

As Schmaltz mentions, there's still some hurdles to work through, but given how much of an impact his absence made on Saturday, it's safe to say the team need him back on Monday.
William Nylander was among the #leafs who took part in a highly optional skate in Boston this afternoon. It's the first time he's been spotted on the ice since Wednesday's game in Tampa.
Nylander also took to the ice on Sunday's optional skate, and if all things go well, it appears Toronto will have another star on the ice, and after 10 points in 11 playoff games a year ago, this should increase the Maple Leafs confidence in a big way. There's many things Toronto need to improve upon in game two, but with just one goal on 36 shots, the finishing is a big part of that, and given Nylander's two straight 40 goal seasons, it can't be understated just how much they need him on the ice.
