With a big game coming up against the reigning Stanley Cup Champions, and a big two points at stake, Sheldon Keefe has made some changes to his lines at practice in an attempt to generate some more offense.
One of the most notable changes to Toronto's lineup ahead of their upcoming game is the promotion of Calle Jarkrok to the first line, where he will play with top producers such as Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner.
In addition to this, Michael Bunting has found himself back in the Leafs' top-six, playing with John Tavares and William Nylander.
Perhaps the most shocking revelation from all of this is Keefe's aversion to playing the defenders general manager Kyle Dubas acquired at the trade deadline.
While it appears that Jake McCabe and Erik Gustafsson will play tonight, as Toronto continues to roll 7 defenseman and 11 forwards, Luke Schenn and Conor Timmins will sit out once again.
This is a puzzling move to many Leafs fans, as Justin Holl has been the scapegoat of a majority of the fan-base this season.
Many would prefer to see one of the new additions such as Luke Schenn or Conor Timmins get consistent ice-time, but for now they'll have to wait.
