The Toronto Maple Leafs were on a hot streak for a while there, however, all good things must eventually come to an end. That was the case last night against the Bruins, where the Leafs lost 4-1. While the Leafs didn't play their worst game, they failed to do the little things that it takes to beat a good team like Boston.
After the game, Captain John Tavares commented on the loss, saying that it was a lesson that the team needs to learn in how to play for a full 60 minutes.
Leaf fans weren't the happiest with the comments, as it is one they have heard many times before, and seemingly the Leafs haven't learned anything when it comes to getting success.
The Toronto Maple Leafs would be slated to play the Bruins in the first round of the playoffs if the season were to be over today, which has made many fans worried as the Bruins seem to always play their best against the Leafs.
Clearly, there is still a lot of the season left to play and for things to shake out. However, what is also clear is that the Leafs still have a lot of work to do in order to get ready for the playoffs if they want to have success this year.
