The Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Fraser Minten had to leave the game after a dangerous hit by the Montreal Canadiens' 5th overall pick David Reinbacher.

In the rookie game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens, the second of back-to-back games, Fraser Minten, one of the top prospects in the Toronto Maple Leafs organization, left in the end of the second period.

He collided with the boards skates first and returned slowly to the bench, limping, following this hit from Reinbacher:

This is a tough loss for the Maple Leafs. The first line, with Minten, Easton Cowan and Nikita Grebenkin was definitely the best offensive line on the ice today and yesterday.

The hit happened in the end of the second period, and a few minutes later, the Leafs retaliated with this hit on Habs' Lane Hutson:

Until further details are provided by the Toronto Maple Leafs organization, fans will keep their fingers crossed that Minten's injury isn't as severe as it looks.

If Minten were to miss some time, it would be terrible for his development. Not only would he miss the training camp, he would surely miss the preseason games, which are always extremely important for the players' growth.

Stay tuned as we'll report any development on Minten's health.
