When he was selected in the first round in last year's NHL draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs, a lot of fans didn't know who Easton Cowan was. However, after this season in junior, the whole world knows his name. Cowan has had an incredible year with the London Knights of the OHL, tallying 96 points in 54 games for the squad and breaking records as he did it.
His success has continued when the pressure rises, as he has had an incredible streak of performances in the playoffs for the Knights as well this season.
Now, he has shared some of his thoughts about playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs, including that he doesn't care what his haters might think about him or his skill.
Cowan also shared that he has an affinity for playing on the biggest stage and that he looks forward to the opportunity to do so in order to show just how big he can be and how he can handle high-pressure situations.
With the Leafs looking to potentially shake things up this offseason, it's clear they need someone who can perform in the playoffs. If Cowan is able to develop into the NHL player he looks like he has the potential to become, they have a good future ahead.
