Since his interview on 32 Thoughts, there has been absolutely no development to report on Nylander's negotiations with the Maple Leafs.
Now, a few weeks later, Friedman has provided an update on the case.
What William Nylander Wants
Nylander told Friedman that he wants to remain in Toronto for his whole career.
If he's honest, the deal should get done soon...
If only money is preventing the deal from being made, and Nylander truly wants to stay with the Leafs, don't be surprised if he waits until the last minute to sign the deal, in hopes of forcing Treliving's hand to make a bigger offer.
If it's really not meant to happen, he'll get traded at the deadline. Flipping him for a top defenseman ahead of the playoffs could be beneficial for the Leafs...
