Maple Leafs fans furious after clear hit to the head of David Kampf
Last night the Toronto Maple Leafs once again fought off elimination against the Boston Bruins. Despite the win many fans are still furious with how the game played out and in particular the officiating.
The Toronto Maple Leafs were able to pull out a convincing win last night to force a Game 7 against the Boston Bruins. In the aftermath of the win fans have taken to social media to call out the officiating from last night's game. One hit specifically thrown by Bruins Charlie McAvoy is getting a lot of backlash.
Clear head contact, no penalty.
The hit was not only to the head but it also left David Kampf injured with a bloody nose. There was no penalty called on this play and no discipline is expected at this time.

With the emphasis on player safety in recent years hits like this need to be taken more seriously by officials on the ice and the NHL themselves. While every game has missed calls from time to time egregious ones like this that lead to injury cannot be ignored.
