The Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving is in talks with forwards Max Domi and Tyler Bertuzzi over potential long-term extensions for the pair.

This past season Max Domi and Tyler Bertuzzi burst onto the scene establishing themselves as the Leafs' secondary scoring behind the core four. The pair combined for 90 total points, Domi scoring 47 and Bertuzzi scoring 43, and both provided some much-needed snarl.

Today insider Pierre LeBrun provided a major update on the pair and their future with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Leafs are in talks to retain Tyler Bertuzzi and Max Domi for long-term contracts: The Maple Leafs are discussing multi-year deals, potentially worth $5 million to $6 million annually.

Here is part of what LeBrun said on Bertuzzi:

"There's mutual interest in Bertuzzi returning to the Leafs, but the team is juggling a few things so it's not clear if it gets done." - Pierre LeBrun on Tyler Bertuzzi

On Domi, things look a bit more concrete:

"Domi enjoyed his season playing in his hometown. Similar to the Bertuzzi situation, term will be key for the 29-year-old Domi after he settled for one year, $3 million with the Leafs last summer. I would imagine five or six years at between $5 million and $6 million would get it done." - Pierre LeBrun on Max Domi

With Brad Treliving looking to keep the pair, it seems like the Leafs may need to move on from a core four member or two to keep the secondary scoring forwards in town for years to come.
