Max Domi destroys Devils Simon Nemec after he targets Auston Matthews
Tonight Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi was called into action to defend his star teammate Auston Matthews. To do so Max Domi went after New Jersey Devils star rookie Simon Nemec.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are gearing up for the Stanley Cup playoffs with these final regular season games. For Max Domi tuning his game means finding ways to help his teammates throughout the game. Tonight that meant coming to the aid of superstar Auston Matthews.
During a battle along the boards, Auston Matthews got into a shoving match with New Jersey Devils rookie defenseman Simon Nemec. During the scrum, Simon Nemec threw some punches at Auston Matthews. After the two separated Max Domi came from across the ice to let Simon Nemec know Auston Matthews is not to be messed with.
This should be a much-welcomed sight by Toronto Maple Leafs fans who have seen teams in the past bully them in these situations. Now with players like Max Domi and Ryan Reaves the Maple Leafs stars should have room to operate even when things get tight in the playoffs.
