The Leafs could sure use some help at the center position, as Austin Matthews is their only true weapon for that position. John Tavares is aging and doesn't skate as fast as he used to, and Max Domi is more comfortable playing on the wing.
Nazem Kadri would be an absolutely perfect fit for the the number two center position on the Leafs, and now that he was seen playing golf with Marner in Toronto, fans are starting to get excited about a potential reunion.
This isn't the first time that fans get excited for a possible Kadri return to Toronto, as earlier in the off-season, he switched around some of his emojis on his Instagram account. One X user noticed that kadri had changed the words on his main Instagram page to "Calgary, plane emoji, Toronto".
Fans immediately thought that he was traded to the Leafs and were expecting an official announcement, but there never was one. Kadri has said several time he does love Calgary and has no intention of leaving.
Kadri and Marner may just be engaging in a friendly game of golf as they pass some time during the summer, however, in a hockey mecca such as Toronto, every little detail gets dissected and analyzed, in the hope that it could lead to something major.
