David Alter from The Hockey News announced on Friday that Mitch Marner ignored every single question related to the Maple Leafs at this year's annual Marner Assist Foundation.
In previous years, Marner welcomed those questions, however, he became visibly upset anytime someone tried to talk to him about the Leafs.
It appears Marner has had enough with all of the trade talk surrounding him this off-season, and wants nothing to do with it anymore.
There could also be the possibility that Marner understands he will be moved at some point during the season, and does not want to publicly divulge too much of that information. Less is more in this case.
Marner is coming off a fantastic year, scoring 85 points in just 69 games, so the Leafs know his value is at an all-time high right now, and they would rather get a huge return for him as opposed to letting him walk in free agency.
Marner has been facing some serious heat as of late in Toronto, and it appears that as the weeks go on, he can expect it only to get hotter and hotter, as there doesn't appear to be any cooling of trade talks
