Nick Ritchie, a former Toronto Maple Leaf, is facing some tough news. His DEL team, the Iserlohn Roosters, dropped the bombshell that they won't be bringing him back next season.

Nick Ritchie Faces Uncertain Future After DEL Team Decides Not to Re-Sign Him:

Ritchie, who was once the 10th overall draft pick back in 2014, hasn't had the smoothest ride . He's only managed to clock in 18 pro games this season, split between the Roosters in Germany's top league and Karpat in Finland's top league. Now, with the Roosters waving goodbye, it looks like Ritchie's gearing up to hit the free-agent market in the summer of 2024.

Earlier this season, Ritchie missed 8 straight games while with Karpat due to an incident where he got a little too aggressive with a downed opponent, repeatedly striking them in the head. Y That kind of behavior definitely didn't sit well, leading to a buyout agreement between him and Karpat.

You'd think Ritchie would be tearing it up over in Europe, right? Well, not quite. He's only racked up 7 points in those 18 games this season. Talk about a far cry from domination! With numbers like that, it's looking pretty slim for a comeback to the NHL anytime soon.
