The playoffs are on the horizon, and clinched teams are deep in their preparation for the post-season games.

Teams are still subject, however, to injuries, and this really affects the preparation, as we can see with the Maple Leafs.

Matt Murray and Calle Jarnkrok are both sidelined, and it's unclear if they will be ready in time for game one against Tampa Bay.

Sheldon Keefe Provides Update on Jarnkrok and Murray

Matt Murray suffered a head injury against Detroit on April 2nd.

Yesterday, Keefe updated us on the goalie's health.

Sheldon Keefe says Matt Murray's status hasn't changed.

We should know more in the next few days in his case.

As for Jarnkrok, the news is more encouraging:

Sheldon Keefe says Calle Jarnkrok had an MRI & got good results

He will travel on the trip & may skate tomorrow

"He's close"

Both Jarnkrok and Murray have the potential to greatly contribute to the Leafs' success.

While they work towards recovery, Ilya Samsonov has been holding down the fort in goal, performing admirably in his role.

Fortunately, the Leafs have a deep and talented roster, which means Jarnkrok's absence hasn't significantly impacted the team's performance.
