They have Joseph Woll, Erik Kallgren, Keith Petruzzelli and Dryden McKay who have all made great impressions with the Marlies (AHL) and the Growlers (ECHL).
Vyacheslav Peksa and Artur Akhtyamov have also seen a lot of success with their KHL/VHL teams.
Dennis Hildeby has finished his season with Farjestads BK Karlstad in the SHL, he ended the season with an 11-9-0 record, but showed a very solid .918 SV%
Now that he is done with his SHL team, Hildeby has left Sweden to go join the Marlies.
It would be hard to miss him, you just have to look for the 6'6 monster towering in the crease for the Marlies.
He has been given the nickname the Hildebeast for his size and his skill. He will be getting a good taste for the AHL, which he will be joining next season, where he will be able to compete to play for the Leafs.
It is unclear what this means for Woll. He has shown a lot of promise in his few NHL starts this season, he currently holds the best save percentage of any Leafs goalie this season, although the sampling size is significantly smaller.
That does not impact the fact that the leafs might seriously consider him instead of either pending RFA Ilya Samsonov or Matt Murray (1 year left with $4.6875 million) If Woll takes the spot, it would move Hideby up to the next in line position, if he can prove he is better than McKay, Petruzzelli and possibly Kallgren, who is a pending RFA.
