While the Maple Leafs front office have been adamant that one of their top prospects Fraser Minten is 'untouchable', if they are to upgrade their roster, they may need to make sacrifices.
According to a recent report from David Pagnotta, teams that Toronto have been in talks with at the trade deadline are seemingly interested in Minten, and when it comes to landing a major piece in net or on the blue line, the team may need to ultimately give him up.
While he's played just four games in the NHL for Toronto and not registered a point, the 19-year old clearly has a bright future ahead, and the Maple Leafs would love if he could slot into their forward lineup very soon.
In 21 games between Kamloops and Saskatoon in the WHL this season, Minten has tallied an impressive 9 goals and 26 points, and while there's still development ahead, he could be a major piece of the Maple Leafs core going forward.
Ultimately, it's going to take a big star coming back for Toronto to give up Minten, but if the right deal is there, it's something that Brad Treliving certainly needs to consider.
