After a tough playoff run, Mitch Marner has been at the center of a lot of rumours and speculations. Everyone has an opinion about what's going to happen to him, even if the player hasn't lifted his no-movement clause and mentionned in many interviews that he wants to remain with the Leafs.
However, the Leafs general manager Brad Treliving couldn't be clearer when he said they would look into making big changes at the end-of-season media availability. The general belief is that Marner could be traded for a top defenseman, something the team desperately needs.
We've seen a lot of proposals on social medias, but this one makes a lot of sense:
Theodore could be a part of the solution at the blue line. At 28 years old, he's a reliable defenseman who can contribute to the scoresheet. He's entering the final season of his $5,200,000 AAV contract.
As for Roy, he had the best season of his career this year with the Golden Knights, tallying 41 points in 70 games. The player has two seasons left on his contract valued at $3,000,000 AAV.
While the Golden Knights don't have a lot of money to make big trades, moving Theodore and Roy could help getting Marner from the Leafs.
