Dante Sheriff is on his way to the Cyclones. Dante played in 62 games with the ECHL Oilers last season, scoring 18 goals and adding 31 assists. The Oilers will be receiving defenseman Jack Clement and the rights to forward Kieran Craig.
Sheriff is 25-years-old and played the last two seasons with the Tulsa Oilers, racking up 79 points in 113 games over those years. He scored five power-play goals last season while also adding two game-winning goals. He's also played Cincinnati five times in his career, collecting a total of five points.
Jason Payne is the Head Coach of Cincinnati as well as the Director of Hockey Operations, and said that Sheriff is a "shifty player with high offensive capabilities. He can make plays and put the puck in the net.»
Prior to his pro debut, Sheriff played two years with the Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he scored 13 goals and 29 assists in 52 games. He was also named forward of the year and received MVP honors for the 2019-20 season while playing for the Austin Bruins, as he accumulated 62 points.
