Tyler Bertuzzi is absent from the Toronto Maple Leafs' practice today after playing through illness against the Washington Capitals.
When Bertuzzi was benched during the first portion of the Toronto Maple Leafs game against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night, fans were confused. It was later revealed that Bertuzzi was playing through an illness, however, details of the illness were not disclosed.
Now, Tyler Bertuzzi is absent from the Toronto Maple Leafs practice today, as reported by David Alter.
It appears as though Tyler Bertuzzi is absent from practice today. He was under the weather in the last game.
Tyler Bertuzzi is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Edmonton Oilers after developing new symptoms.
Mark Masters has also revealed that Tyler Bertuzzi has developed these new symptoms since playing through illness on Wednesday night, and he didn't come to the facility today. He is now questionable for Saturday's game against the Oilers as he recovers from the illness.

Tyler Bertuzzi had a great game on Wednesday night despite playing through illness.
Bertuzzi had a great game on Wednesday night against the Washington Capitals, scoring a goal and mixing it up with the top line. He has found his stride recently with the Leafs after a slow start to the year, scoring 5 points in his last 5 games. Hopefully, this illness isn't something that Leaf fans will have to worry about for too long, and something he can recover from soon.
Tyler Bertuzzi has 15 goals and 19 assists for the Leafs in 67 games this season, the majority of those goals coming in the latter portion of the year as he finds his groove with the Buds.
