Wes McCauley's fate confirmed for game 7 between Leafs and Bruins
The Boston Bruins will host the Toronto Maple Leafs tomorrow at 8PM EST for the first game seven of the 2024 NHL playoffs. The officiating crew was just announced the day before the game, confirming that Wes McCauley will not be at the game.
McCauley will not be eligible to officiate the game due to the fact that he is serving as the standby official for game six between the Nashville Predators and Vancouver Canucks tonight. The NHL has a policy during the playoffs that every game has a fifth official waiting to enter the game, just in case one of the officials has to leave with an injury.

The news quickly spread around Leafs circles online, with fans elated that the infamous referee will not have an impact on their most important game of the season.
Leafs fans are excited about the news as many believe McCauley has a bias against the Leafs. As such, some within the fanbase now have even more optimism heading into game seven after the team was down 3-1 in the series. Safe to say, the Leafs have momentum on their side.
The gods have shined upon us
Good cuz otherwise he'd try to make the game about himself 🤷♂️
Be sure to tune in tomorrow as the Leafs could be heading home. Both their own fate and the fate of the Bruins rests on the winner-take-all game. Will it be the Leafs who go home, or the Bruins? Only one way to find out.
