Rick Tocchet and Elias Pettersson blast NHL officiating
The Vancouver Canucks have not made the playoffs this season and have been out of the playoff race for a while now, but they have actually done a good job since they hired a new head coach, Rick Tocchet, midway through the season. The Canucks are still taking the season seriously, and they have had some good games lately.
They recently faced off against the Calgary Flames, and despite the fact that many Canucks fans want their team to lose, so that they can get a better chance at winning the draft lottery, and drafting the already legendary Connor Bedard, the Canucks still lost this game against Calgary, but many fans thought that the Canucks deserved the win.
Canucks Star Calls Out the Officials
After the game, the head coach, Rick Tocchet and the Canucks star Elias Pettersson both seemed noticeably frustrated with the officiating. They seemed especially frustrated with a penalty against Pettersson, this penalty allowed the Flames to score a game-tying goal.
"Yeah very frustrating," admitted Pettersson after the game. "I don't know what to say, I'm just pissed off."
"I don't wanna comment because I'll probably get fined, they did their best and they made a call I didn't agree with. They're stubborn and they said it was right, so I just gotta accept it."
Thomas Drance said that Pettersson and Tocchet cited an official rule from the NHL rulebook that proved that the referees were wrong, unfortunately, this did not impact the call.
As seen on Hockeyfeed - Rick Tocchet, Pettersson call out the NHL's officiating.
