Carson Soucy receives a one game suspension for hit on Connor McDavid
Carson Soucy has just been suspended for one game after cross-checking Connor McDavid in the face after the final buzzer sounded.
Last night after the final horn sounded, Connor McDavid got pummelled by Vancouver Canucks defensemen Nikita Zadorov and Carson Soucy.
Zadorov came in with the initial cross-check to McDavid's back and that knocked him down lower and on his way down Soucy caught him right in the face.
The NHL Department of Player Safety gave Zadorov a $5,000 fine for his initial cross-check on McDavid.
Vancouver's Nikita Zadorov has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for cross-checking Edmonton's Connor McDavid.
The NHL Department of Player Safety has now officially announced Soucy's suspension.
The Canucks will now lose Soucy for one game which is fair given how he could have knocked McDavid out for multiple games.
