Columbus Doing Everything Possible to Tank For Connor Bedard
It's no secret that the Columbus Blue Jackets are tanking. They've been successful, as they currently sit at the bottom of the standings.
Their most recent move shows just how committed to the tank they are.
Columbus Trying Everything to Tank
2016 2nd Overall Pick Patrik Laine has been on Columbus' first line since they acquired him from the Winnipeg Jets. The notable winger is a great sniper, who plays a mostly perimeter based game.
Knowing this, it would make sense to keep him on the wing. Instead, the Blue Jackets decided to throw him at 1C.
These types of decisions are clearly great for the tank, as the Blue Jackets continue to separate themselves from the pack.
Laine had a laughable 17.6% faceoff win percentage - perfect for the Blue Jackets.
With twelve games left in the season, expect the Blue Jackets to try a few more crazy things. If it pays off and gets them Connor Bedard, nobody will complain!
