Connor Bedard's Cousin Set to Become the Next Generational NHLer
There are several game-changing prospects that will be entering the league over the next few years. Connor Bedard is at the top of the list right now, but he'll likely be a bonafide NHL star by the time some of these other players are even drafted.
2024 will bring Macklin Celebrini, 2025 will bring Michael Misa, and most exciting of all, 2026 will bring Gavin McKenna.
McKenna turned 15 only a few weeks ago, and is already making a name for himself. After being granted exceptional status to the WHL, and being drafted first overall by the Medicine Hat Tigers as a fourteen-year-old, McKenna is already cementing himself as the first overall pick in the... 2026 NHL Draft.
With 8 assists in 11 WHL games as a fourteen year old, McKenna returned to his home province of Yukon for the remainder of the season.
In the CSSHL, McKenna is performing at 5.5 points per game. This is incredible compared to other players, who couldn't even score over 2.5!
Per EliteProspects, McKenna is cousins with 2023 generational prospect Connor Bedard. Clearly there is something special in their DNA!
It's still a long ways out, but one day we'll have these two cousins facing off in the best league in the world!
