Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs have drafted Ben Danford with the 31st overall pick at the 2024 NHL Draft in Las Vegas.

Acquired from the Anaheim Ducks during the first round of the draft for the 23rd and 58th overall picks, the Maple Leafs used the 31st selection to add Ben Danford to their organization.

Danford, 18, is a 6-foot-1 defenseman who tallied one goal and 32 assists in 64 games with the Oshawa Generals last season.

"Maple Leafs select defenceman Ben Danford with 31st pick."

Ben Danford will join Easton Cowan, Fraser Minten and Topi Niemelä in the Toronto Male Leafs' prospect pool.

"Leafs take Ben Danford, a smooth defender with rush-stopping skills, high-end retrievals, and a sneaky-good physical game.

Much better with the puck than the points suggest. He has plenty of playmaking skill and flashes some ability to manipulate defenders."

"Toronto Maple Leafs take a swing at Ben Danford. Danford impressed many with his maturity and composure despite a very tough role as the #1 D on the OHL Championship Finalists in Oshawa. A very mature and mobile defender who must work on his play with the puck on his stick."

Check out Danford's comments in the video below:

"Growing up, I've been a lifelong diehard Leafs fan. To get drafted by them means that much more."

Stay tuned for more.
